Terms of Service
Last updated October 2nd, 2026
Welcome to Esports Authority, a site built by MLG Anakin for our gaming and esports community. By using this site you agree to the terms below. We have kept this simple and readable rather than full of legal jargon.
Who Can Use This Site
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or older where the law where you live sets a higher age, such as 14 in Quebec. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is okay with you using the site.
Youth events are welcome, and are set up and run by adults. If you organize or coach an event with players under 13, you are responsible for entering their team and roster yourself, for having their parent or guardian's permission to list them, and for entering no more than a first name, nickname or jersey number for each of them.
What You Upload
You can upload a profile picture, and captains can upload a team logo. You are responsible for what you upload: only upload images you have the right to use, and nothing illegal, hateful, sexual, or designed to impersonate somebody else. Uploaded pictures are shown publicly next to your username, on your profile, on cards and on leaderboards. We may remove an image, or the ability to upload one, without notice. You can replace or remove your own picture at any time from your profile.
Cards, Card Packs and Merchandise
By creating a player profile or a team on Esports Authority, you give us permission to use the player or team name, username, team logo, colours, profile picture and likeness you add to the site in our trading cards and card packs - both the digital cards on this site and any printed, physical cards or packs we make in the future - and in the promotion of them. This permission is worldwide, free of charge and does not require further notice to you, and no payment or royalty is owed for it. Captains confirm they are allowed to give it on behalf of their team. If you would like your name or likeness left out of future releases, contact us and we will exclude it from anything not already produced.
Names, Profiles and Custom Web Addresses
We reserve the right to change, update or remove any team name, player name or username, event name, or custom web address, for any reason and at any time. We only expect to use this in serious cases, such as abuse, hate, impersonating another person, team or business, misleading others, or a legal or trademark complaint. Time left on a custom web address removed for breaking these terms is not refunded. Every page keeps its original address, so removing a custom one never takes the page itself down.
Names and addresses are for the people and teams who actually use them. If a team name, player name, username, custom web address or any similar item is being held to block, impersonate or pressure another team or person, we may take it back and give it to the person or team it rightfully belongs to. We review each case by hand before anything changes.
Your Location
We do not collect or use your location, and nothing on the site, embedded maps included, can ask your device for it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your connected accounts (Google, Steam, Discord, Twitch) secure. Do not share your login access with anyone else. We can suspend or remove any account used to cheat, exploit bugs, abuse other users, or break these terms.
Gold Coins, Silver Coins, and Prizes
Gold Coins and Silver Coins are virtual currencies used only inside Esports Authority. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and cannot be transferred between accounts, except where the site offers it: tipping an event organizer in Gold Coins, or gifting a subscription. We may adjust prices, odds, rewards, or how these currencies work at any time to keep things fair and balanced for everyone. Prizes won or purchased through the shop and wheels, including Steam items and Minecraft rewards, are fulfilled at our discretion using the trade link or account info you provide, and delivery may take time.
Gold Coins are also used to redeem Pro and Max account subscriptions, add-ons and extra event slots, and can be converted into Silver Coins. Silver Coins open Card Packs, spin the Random Wheel and buy from the daily shop. Card Packs, cosmetics and other unlocks are awarded by chance, by reaching XP levels, by achievements or by trading in extra cards. The pull odds for your plan are published on every pack and on the Random Wheel, and Pro and Max have better odds than Free. Cards, cosmetic items, titles, trophies and profile decorations are account-bound: they have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred between accounts, and may be changed, rebalanced or withdrawn as the site develops. XP and account levels are free, are not purchasable, and carry no cash value.
A Pro or Max subscription lasts for the length you redeemed and then expires. Nothing you built is deleted when it ends. An event that fits the Free limits carries on as normal. An event above the Free limits needs an active subscription for its entire length, from the first game to the last: if the subscription ends before then, the event pauses (scores cannot be entered, standings and brackets stop updating and changes cannot be saved) until you renew or bring the event back inside the Free limits. The FAQ covers each case. A subscription may be gifted to somebody on one of your teams; a gifted subscription belongs to the account it was given to and cannot be reclaimed.
Giveaways
Giveaways run on the site follow whatever specific rules are posted for that giveaway at the time. We can update or end a giveaway early if something goes wrong, such as abuse, a technical issue, or an unfair advantage discovered after entries open.
Tournaments and Events (Online and In-Person)
From time to time we run or host tools for tournaments and events through Esports Authority, covering both online/esports events and in-person sports like our softball, baseball and ice hockey tournaments. Rules, formats, prize structures, and other event details may be changed before, during, or after an event if needed to reach a fair and reasonable outcome for everyone involved, including Esports Authority, the players, and anyone else connected to the event. Changes like this are only made in serious situations, such as clear rule breaking, a loophole in how the event was set up, or something unexpected that nobody could have planned for.
Some events use the tournament and league creator tools to be organized by other members of our community ("organizers"), not directly by Esports Authority. Organizers are responsible for how they run their own events; Esports Authority provides the scheduling/bracket tool itself and isn't a party to disputes between an organizer and participants.
Event Limits, Leagues and Schedules
How many events you can have on the site at once depends on your plan, as shown in the subscription table on the Shop page. Tournaments and leagues can be created on every plan, including Free; the plan sets how many teams, fields and days an event can have. Leagues and tournaments count together, and deleting an event frees its spot. Results and ratings from games already played (such as Elo, records and trophies) stay on the teams and players involved even if the event is later deleted. League organizers can move a league game to a new date or time (for example a make-up game); tournament game times are set by the tournament's schedule.
Entry Fees, Prize Pools and Payouts
Esports Authority provides the tools to organize, schedule, score and rank events. We do not currently collect, hold or pay out registration fees, entry fees, deposits or prize pool money for any event - those are handled directly between the organizer and the teams. Any fee, deposit, prize or payout shown on an event page is set and managed by that event's organizer. Esports Authority is not responsible for unpaid or late prizes, refunds, lost or withheld funds, chargebacks, or any other money dispute between organizers, teams, players or sponsors. In short: every registration fee, entry fee, deposit and prize stays with the organizer and the teams, and we touch none of it. Payment and payout tools through the site are slated for late 2027 and will come with their own terms before they go live.
Messages and Community Content
Team chats, polls, supporter messages and event chats are for the people in them. Be respectful: no harassment, threats, hate, spam, scams, sexual content or anything involving minors. We may remove content, restrict messaging, or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we may review reported messages to keep people safe. You can block anyone who messages you and delete your own copy of a conversation at any time.
Donations and Support
Donations through our Supporters page, Patreon or other fundraising links are voluntary gifts to help keep the project running. They are not investments, do not buy ownership or a share of revenue, are not refundable except where the law requires, and are not tax-deductible. Supporter perks are a thank-you and may change. Tips sent to an event organizer are made in Gold Coins, go to the organizer in full, and are final.
In-Person Events
If you take part in an in-person event connected to Esports Authority, such as a softball, baseball or hockey tournament, you do so at your own risk. Neither Esports Authority nor an event's organizer is responsible for injuries, lost or damaged property, or other incidents that happen at a physical venue - follow the venue's rules and whatever the organizer sets out for that event. Photos or video may be taken at in-person events for use on the site or our social channels; let an organizer or us know if you'd rather not appear in that kind of coverage.
Beta Site
Esports Authority is currently in beta. That means some features are still being tested and you may run into bugs or unexpected behavior. If something looks broken or you have feedback, please let us know through the Contact Us button.
Purchases
Real money purchases, such as Gold Coin packs, are processed securely through Stripe. Gold Coins are delivered to your account balance immediately, and because they are a digital item delivered at once, sales are final: coins cannot be refunded, exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for real money once credited. Anything you then spend coins on - subscriptions, packs, add-ons - is spent. If something goes wrong with an order, contact us and we will sort it out.
Advertising
Booking your own ad on the site is not open yet. When it opens, Gold Coins will be taken when you book and every ad will be reviewed by hand before it runs. We can decline any ad, and if we do the Gold is returned. Ads must be family friendly and must not promote adult content, gambling, weapons, tobacco or vaping, anything illegal, or anything misleading, hateful or aimed at children. We may pause an ad that breaks these rules or whose link changes to something that does. Approved ads run for the length booked; view and click counts are provided as-is.
The site is set up to show ads served by Google AdSense once Google approves it. Those ads are chosen and delivered by Google under Google's own policies; clicking one takes you to the advertiser, and we are not responsible for what they offer. Do not click ads you are not interested in, and never click ads on purpose to earn anyone money. Accounts with an active Pro or Max subscription see no ads of either kind. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.
Our Responsibility
We do our best to keep the site running smoothly and fairly, but Esports Authority is provided as is, without guarantees. We are not responsible for losses related to site downtime, bugs, third party platforms like Steam, Discord, or Google, or your own account security.
Changes To These Terms
We may change, update or remove any part of the site, and update these terms, as the site changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
